St. Felix Centre: Outing to Niagra Falls: Amma Foundation of Canada and St. Felix Centre (located at 25 Augusta Avenue, Toronto) together organized a trip for the "children at risk" in the downtown area. Thirty seven children were taken to Niagara Falls for a picnic. Volunteers from Amma Foundation and St. Felix Centre accompanied the kids. A chartered bus left St. Felix Centre on Saturday morning at 10.00 and after reaching Niagara Falls, the group went for a ride on the "Maid of the Mist". The group was also taken for a tour around the Niagara area. A packed lunch was enjoyed during the sightseeing activities. After completing the sightseeing activities, the group went for a pizza supper at the Falls area and returned to Toronto, tired but in high spirits. From all reports, the children and the volunteers had a great time. The unanimous comment was that there should be more outings of this nature.

TD Canada Shoreline Cleanup: On September 26th, the Toronto Youth group gathered at Erindale Park to participate in the shoreline cleanup project by TD Canada trust. The shoreline cleanup is one of the largest conservation initiatives of the Vancouver Aquarium. The goal of this program is to allow people from all walks of life to make a positive difference to their environment. We split into two groups and spent the entire morning cleaning up. Erindale Park is a beautiful park and it was quite saddening to see so much litter. We felt that it was a very rewarding activity because we were able to contribute to making a change and participate in preserving the environment. There were other groups present from other organizations , and we were able to interact with them as well. We hope to organize more activities of this nature in the future.
